For HR and learning teams

Training people
can follow alone.

Benefits enrollment, expense claims, leave requests, the learning portal. Record each one once, and people stop waiting for someone to show them.

In short

Chronika is a way for HR and learning teams to build onboarding and training guides. Record a task once and each click becomes a step with its screenshot. People follow the guide on their own with Guide Me, a public link or a PDF, and editors fix a step when the process changes.

01How it works

Record it. Share it. Fix it. Keep it.

A new joiner opens the leave request form and cannot tell which leave type to pick. Record the choice once, with your voice on it, and they stop waiting for someone to look over their shoulder.

  1. Capture it as you work

Record it from the employee’s side

HR systems look different to the people who run them than to the people who use them. Record the task the way an employee meets it and the guide starts where they start, with no screen they will never see.

    • The browser extension covers HR and learning portals; the Windows app covers desktop programs
    • Narrate the choices as you click: “pick this plan if you have dependents”
    • If you turn AI on, a finished recording gets a drafted title and step text that you review and change
  2. Share it where work happens

Send a link, not a slide deck

Put the link in the welcome email, the intranet page or a chat message. Turn on the public link and anyone with it can read the guide without an account. For anything that shows personal data, keep the guide inside the workspace instead.

    • Guide Me walks a reader through a task one step at a time
    • PDF or Word for the people who print
    • Switch a public link off the day the policy changes
  3. Fix the painful parts

Keep personal data off the screen

HR screens are full of names and numbers. Record with sample data where you can, then blur what is left. Password fields are blurred for you; any other field, you blur by hand before you share.

    • Blur, crop and annotate each screenshot
    • Hide a step that was only there for your own check
    • Add a note for the rule behind a step: who approves, and by when
  4. Keep the library in order

One shelf per topic, one owner per shelf

Make a collection for onboarding, benefits, leave and learning. Editors keep their shelf current. Everyone else reads. Invitations are links: one tied to a single email address, or an open one that works until you revoke it or it expires.

    • Admins manage members and invitations
    • Viewers read; they cannot change a guide
    • Retired guides go to Trash first, so a mistake can be undone

02Example guides

Guides you would record

These are the kinds of guides an HR or learning team could record. They are examples, not customer work.

  1. 01How to enroll in benefits
  2. 02How to submit an expense claim
  3. 03How to request time off
  4. 04How to find your payslip
  5. 05How to update your personal details
  6. 06How to start a course in the learning portal

Tip

Over €1,500 needs your manager’s approval first.

03What you get

What Chronika does for HR and learning

  • Records any portal in a browser or any Windows program
  • Keeps one instruction and one picture on every step
  • Blurs password fields automatically and lets you blur the rest by hand
  • Shares by public link, or keeps a guide inside the workspace
  • Plays a guide in Guide Me, one step at a time
  • Exports to PDF, Word, HTML and Markdown

04Questions

Before you start

Can employees read a guide without an account?
Yes, if you turn on that guide’s public link. The link is read-only and the screenshots behind it are served only through it. Without a public link, only signed-in members of the workspace can see the guide.
How do I stop people using a guide that is out of date?
Turn its public link off, edit the steps that changed, or move the guide to Trash. Edits are made on the guide itself, so there is one copy to keep right.
Do I need AI to write the instructions?
No. Without AI, recordings still get sensible titles and step text. If you configure an AI provider, it drafts the write-up for you to review, apply and undo.
