How to request a laptop
What does Capture do?
Chronika is a screen recorder that writes step-by-step guides. The Chrome and Edge extension records a browser tab, and the Windows app records one window or a whole screen. Each click becomes a step with its screenshot, narration lines up with the step it explains, and password fields are blurred before upload.
01Browser
The extension records the tab you are in
Open the toolbar popup, pick the workspace the guide should land in, and start. The page shows a small recorder bar with the time and the step count while you work.
- One step per click, typed field, selection or page change
- Each step has a screenshot with the click ringed
- The screenshot shows the page as it was just before the click
- Pause, resume and complete from the popup or the bar
- Add steps to a guide you already have
02Windows
The Windows app records a window or a screen
Most work is not only in a browser. Pick one window or a whole screen, wait out the 3-2-1 countdown, and work normally. Excel, Teams and your internal tools all count.
- One step per click or typed text, with a screenshot and the click marked
- Reads the name of the control you clicked, so steps say what you touched
- Records which program each step happened in
- The recorder bar and the countdown never show up in a screenshot
- One self-contained .exe: no installer, no admin rights
Sample · one window, one screen
03Narration
Say it out loud as you go
Turn narration on and talk through the task. Your words are turned into text and lined up with the step you were on when you said them, so the explanation sits next to the click it explains.
- Narration is optional and off until you switch it on
- Each step keeps what you said while you were on it
- The narration helps write the step text when AI is configured
- Play it back from a step on the guide page
Heard while this step was recorded
“The sixteen-inch model is for developers and designers only, so pick the fourteen.”
04Safe while it records
Password fields are blurred before anything leaves your computer
A recorder sees everything on the screen, so it has to be careful. Password fields are detected and blurred in the screenshot, and the text you type into them is not recorded. If a picture cannot be made safe, it is left out.
- Password fields are blurred in the pixels, on your computer, before upload
- Typed text in those fields is never sent
- Steps upload as they happen, so a long recording is not held back for the end
- The browser extension keeps its place even when the browser pauses its background worker
- Recorders sign in with a personal token and act with your own permissions
Sample sign-in screen, as uploaded
Blurred before upload. The typed text is not kept.

What you have when you press stop

Nothing typed in passwords
Blurred in the screenshot, never stored as text.
