Walk them
through it.

A guide is more than something to read. Guide Me runs it one step at a time, in a player or right on top of the real site, so the person only ever has to look at the step they are on.

What does Guide Me do?

Chronika includes Guide Me, an interactive guide walkthrough. It runs a recorded guide one step at a time, in a full-screen player or as an overlay on the live website through the Chrome and Edge extension, ringing the next thing to click. The reader only ever looks at the step they are on.

01The player

One step on the screen, and the screenshot big enough to follow

Open any guide in Guide Me and it fills the screen with the step you are on. It works on a guide in the app and on a public link.

  • Next and Back, or the arrow keys and space
  • A progress bar and a step count
  • Tips, notes and alerts appear as they come up
  • Hidden steps are skipped
  • The last step ends on a done screen

Guide Me points at the real thing

With the extension, Guide Me runs as an overlay on the actual page. It finds the button or field the step is about, scrolls it into view and rings it. Click it and Guide Me moves on to the next step.

  • A ring around the element to click next
  • Clicking the ringed element moves you to the next step
  • A small card with the step, a progress bar, Back and Next
  • Take me there opens the step’s page when you are on a different one
  • Start it from a guide in the app
  • Exit at any time

03Who it is for

Made for the person with the task open in another window

The reader is doing the task, often in another window. Guide Me keeps one instruction in front of them and keeps the rest out of the way.

  • The step being read is the one that is lit
  • No account needed on a public link
  • Narration plays back from the guide page for members of the workspace

Tip

Over €1,500 needs your manager’s approval first.

Before you send the link

Guide Me shows the guide exactly as written, so a clumsy step title is the first thing your reader sees. Ask me to tighten the titles first. That needs an AI provider, which is set by whoever runs your Chronika.

What you get

Full-screen, one step at a time, with keyboard control.

An overlay on the live site

The extension rings the element for each step.

  • 03

    Nothing to build

Any guide you have already recorded can be run this way.

Questions

About Guide Me

Do I need to edit a guide before using Guide Me?
No. It runs on the guide as it is. A hidden step is skipped, and a tip, note or alert is shown at its place.
What does Guide Me on the live site need?
The Chrome or Edge extension, connected to your account. You start it from a guide in the app, and the overlay appears on the page.
What if Guide Me cannot find the button?
It looks for the element by the selector and the label saved with the step. If the page has changed so that neither matches, there is no ring on that step, and the step text and the screenshot are still there to follow.
Can someone outside the team use Guide Me?
The player runs on a public link, so yes. The overlay on a live site needs the extension.
